The 1811 Classic Head Cent (Buy on eBay) had the lowest mintage of the series at 218,025 pieces. Two major varieties are recognized for the issue. There is an overdate with the last digit 1 over 0 and a normal date. The overdate is the scarcer variety of the two.
Most surviving examples across both varieties are well circulated, although a few uncirculated pieces exist. An example of the normal date variety graded PCGS MS63 Brown sold for $17,250 at auction in February 2012. An example of the 1811/0 Large Cent graded NGC MS 63 Brown, representing the finest example of the over date variety, sold for $41,400 at an auction in September 2010.
